Access to justice

For female survivors, in particular GBV victims, criminal justice is essential to deal with the past. For the Cambodian society and the international community criminal justice is equivalent to the end of impunity which has prevailed in cases of GBV over centuries. CDP, TPO and VSS are running a series of activities to support female survivors and GBV victims in their quest for justice at the ECCC.

Beneficiaries Female Civil Parties
Activities Trial Attendance:  To enable female Civil Parties to follow the trial directly, VSS is facilitating their travel to the court.
National Forums:  At the end of the first sub-trial, female Civil Parties will have a chance to learn about the judgment and express their concerns.
Beneficiaries GBV Civil Parties
Activities Civil Party Workshops:  To provide legal up-date and psycho-education to a group of GBV survivors among the Civil Parties, regular workshops are conducted.

Capacity Building:  By training team leaders among the Civil Parties on GBV, gender and women’s human rights, they are enabled to become active against GBV in their communities.
