Cambodian Defenders Project (CDP)
As one of Cambodia’s oldest civil society organizations, CDP is dedicated to providing free legal representation to the poor and vulnerable as well as promoting the rule of law, development of the judiciary and democratic governance in Cambodia. Women’s human rights, especially their access to justice, have always been a focus point.
CDP took a relatively early interest in the issue of gender-based violence under the Khmer Rouge, producing the first focused research study on the topic in 2006. In 2009, in response to these findings, CDP established the Project on Gender Based Violence during the Khmer Rouge Regime (GBV Project).

Transcultural Psychosocial Organization (TPO Cambodia)
As the major local non-governmental organization (NGO) dedicated to mental health in Cambodia and with its extensive network contacts to other local NGOs, TPO Cambodia is deeply rooted in Cambodian society. Working with mentally ill people, rather than just for them, TPO is committed to a strong participatory and community-based approach integrating wherever possible beneficiaries in project design and implementation. Thus, community mobilization strategies are at the core of TPO’s response.
As a community based non-government organization dealing with major social problems such as domestic violence and alcohol abuse, peace-building and conflict resolution in Cambodian communities are at the heart of TPO’s engagement and provide a major cross-cutting issue in all of its projects. TPO further contributes to research in the psychosocial field. Research activities aim to identify psychosocial needs and to develop appropriate assessment measures, to evaluate outcomes of psychosocial intervention approaches, and to assess the experience of program beneficiaries.

The Victim Support Section (VSS) of the Extraordinary Chambers in the Courts of Cambodia (ECCC)
The VSS is created for facilitating the meaningful participation of victims of the Khmer Rouge regime in the legal proceeding of the ECCC and coordinating the process of seeking reparations to those victims through legal and non-judicial measures and programs that address broader interests of the victims during the course of the ECCC proceeding and beyond. To achieve the above objectives, the VSS seeks to design, propose, and seek alternate financial sources for the development and implementation of non-judicial measures and programs addressing the broader interests of victims. These programs may when appropriate be developed and implemented in collaboration with governmental and non-governmental organizations external to the ECCC.
The primary goal is to formulate feasible plans and have access to supportive resources for the implementation of projects for non-judicial measures through dissemination of information about the participation in legal proceedings and reparations, ensuring legal representation for individual and collective Civil Parties.
